Related performance indicator(s) —
Leadership – Candidates lead their peers in designing and implementing technology-supported learning.
Provided leadership, experience, and knowledge to educators on how to avoid potential problems when implementing maker spaces that would support STEAM learning athe their institutions.
Ethics – Candidates demonstrate ethical behavior within the applicable cultural context during all aspects of their work and with respect for the diversity of learners in each setting.
Provided learners with a properly sourced, professional experience while learning about maker spaces.
Reflection —
This presentation was based off of my work in Ukraine on what I called Creation Spaces but are more commonly called Maker spaces in the US. I ran into a number of issues working on these with organizations that had minimal resources. This was a concern that I observed in the US as well so I submitted a proposal to discuss this with educators at South Carolina EdTech 2015. It was a great experience sharing my knowledge and working with educators to brainstorm how they could implement activities in their institutions. Their wasn’t a formal evaluation process but based on questions the presentation was effective.

ADDIE and/or MRK:
Modified ADDIE: This was not a true instructional module but did require analyzing the audience and designing/developing a document.
Related performance indicator(s) —
Collaborative Practice – Candidates collaborate with their peers and subject matter experts to analyze learners, develop and design instruction, and evaluate its impact on learners.
Discussed current productivity blockers at IBM with colleagues to determine the direction for my research. This allowed me to better understand the needs and the potential users before researching possible solutions.
Leadership – Candidates lead their peers in designing and implementing technology-supported learning.
Provided leadership and possible technology solutions to management and peers. While I was only a small part of the process Slack has become the go-to communication app at IBM
Ethics – Candidates demonstrate ethical behavior within the applicable cultural context during all aspects of their work and with respect for the diversity of learners in each setting.
Research was all properly sourced and attributed.
Reflection —
I was able to use the skills gained while working on academically rigorous research paper in a real world context. There are a great number of tools available and having the research background to analyze them for strengths and weaknesses will be essential as I design new courses and materials. It was easy to dismiss the research skills I was building while working on EDET 709 and other courses as irrelevant for my job. That became impossible after using those skills in a potentially professional context.
